Not only did the Celtics acquire a whole roster of star players, they all are excellent 3 point shooters and defenders. Years of building towards a clear vision have finally yielded the desired outcome that speaks for itself. No drama, no ego clashes, just a group of guys that do their job and work together as a unit.

When boston wins again this season and jokic wins mvp again, i think that'll be enough to make the voters question how VALUABLE defense is. Tatum will never win an mvp on points, rebs and asts (which is what the mvp race has devolved to: a triple double contest or best offensive player). Tatum's main edge/how he contributes to winning over the other MVP candidates is defense. Much like prime kawhi. His defense and utility contributions (screen assists, potential assists, etc) are very underrated. i will call it though, this season, even if the celtics win 65-70+ games and win the chip, tatum isnt going to win MVP. the voters have to be jarred 1st before they appreciate what tatum brings to the team/court/winning.
@josephrafferty6763Ай бұрын
I’m a Celtics fan, but you have this wrong. Jokic is far and away the best player in the world. Offensively, no one is even in the same ballpark, and he’s a much, much better defensive player than most seem to think. He’s far from a bad defender. The advance metrics actually show him as an elite defender, in a team context. Jokic should have had every MVP since 2021, honestly. The other reason Tatum is unlikely to win MVP is a little less fair: Boston has so much talent that he won’t get as much credit for their success as top players on other, less talented top teams.
@TheRobversion1Ай бұрын
@josephrafferty6763 jokic is indeed the best player in the world. The post is about winning in the context of MVP. People will look at stats 1st, primarily scoring and the triple double stats when it comes to winning MVP. those will be weighted higher. Winning isnt prioritized nor is defense. So the post is about saying tatum will never win MVP unless they start valuing defense or winning higher as these are the primary 2 things tatum brings to the table. I also thought it would be very funny if tatum and the celtics win 65-70+, go on a 3-peat and he doesnt have a single mvp to his name. Tatum could actually retire with 5 chips and never have won a single MVP simply because he lived in the time of jokic while jokic would be stuck with 1 chip and 5 MVPs. And thats a sad thought in terms of what people value in sports. Personally, i dislike the current setup of mvp. It shouldnt be best player or best offensive player. I'd prefer if it was best 2-way player (defense is weighted the same as offense) or going back to pre-2010s where it was closer to best player on best team (winning is weighted heavier) as it was very rare for a non-top 3 team player to win MVP. but the 2010s, specifically westbrook/harden broke that mold. Best player IMO doesnt equate to most valuable for me as valuable=winning. Tatum win a chip by putting up worse numbers. The concept of knowing how to take a stepback and sacrifice gets lost in all the best player discussion. This was what tatum realized if you're really a celtic fan. Luka, i can envision him winning when he doesnt have an MVP caliber type of season where he steps back, does less and empowers his teammates to do more. So i disagree that i have it wrong. You and i simply value different things or see things differently.

Ive got this feeling he'll make another leap to 30 10 6 eventually because rn imo he's the second best player in the NBA only behind Jokic. Jokic doesn't count tho i mean it's friggin jokic
@cvgodd1432Ай бұрын
@@KLexEntertainmentidk.. jokic lack of defense kind of gives Tatum more of an argument. He’s 7 ft and never gets blocks lol. Everything runs off him, Tatum can hit the bench for a while quarter and they’ll be ok. You can see a major difference I’m ngl. I think it’s a negative plus minus when he’s on the bench but not much. I’ve never seen such a versatile player. Clamping centers, clamping guards, 3 pt machine, post up, mid range, elite passing. Lebron too but his shooting was never on Jt level.
@KLexEntertainmentАй бұрын
@@cvgodd1432 don’t get me wrong I 100% agree JTs my favorite player so I think absolutely think he has a claim as the best player in the nba I just want to see him do this over a little longer span of time before I make that claim and a chip wouldn’t hurt that case. It’s just Jokic is a fucking monster offensively I don’t think he has to be at level considering he’s a top 5 defender at his position but I just want him to be at this level for the 2nd half of the season as well

@IronfangzuАй бұрын
And the year before that, instead of Jaylen Brown, we could have gotten Dragan Bender or Chris Dunn. So instead of Tatum and Brown, we could have had a team anchored by Chris Dunn and Fultz, haha. Probably would have not 1 but 3 or 4 championships by now!!! Ok, kidding. More likely the team would have been disbanded, haha.

It’s cool having the coach also be a guy who grew up loving all things Celtics. Mazzulla’s guys play for him and they respect the hell out of him, I’m curious if his love for the franchise gives players more perspective as to how much the team and themselves as players mean to the city… if you’re from Boston or the area then you know what I mean. It really is different here.
@fredericopinto123Ай бұрын
I agree with this video 100 percent ☘️ if the Cs won 6 straight titles from 2024-2029 I wouldn’t be shocked. By the end of that run Tatum and Brown would still only be 31 and 32 years old. 😂

@cvgodd1432Ай бұрын
Nice work. It’s scary. Celtics got better 😂. Everyone improved for the most part. Especially Tatum and PP. I always said if he fixes those shooting droughts he would be the best in the league. That’s the only thing that killed his game. He just had too much to his shot. Too many things had to go right for him to make the shots. Now it’s more of a simple flick shot.
@IronfangzuАй бұрын
Tatum has gotten slightly better. (Obviously he was already elite, so he couldn't get a LOT better unless he started scoring 50 PPG. Pritchard has improved by a lot. He used to be basically a good player on their bench. But now he is playing very meaningful minutes and contributing big. It does look like Horford and Jrue Holiday have taken a small step back. Hopefully they just had a slow start and will get back to their old selves. Bue, Father Time is lurking nearby and they are the team's oldest players. Queata has also played very well in KP''s absence. Overall I would say the team is fractionally better. But, we can't ask for more than that since they killed it last year. They are killing it this year too. IMHO, if their health holds up so they have most of their big parts come playoff time, they will cruise to another title.

AL Houser Then they beat MJs Bulls GS with KD LA with shaq Miami LbJ & Wade too. JB takes Jordan Tatum takes Pip JB takes Klay Tatum takes KD Jru on curry KP & Horford for shaq KP & Horford would have shaq at the 3 opening up the lane. JB & Tatum switch on Kobe Jru on fisher Dwhite goes off on the bulls & lakers. GD would be the toughest. Prob go 7 4-3 Boston.
