BOSTON was one band that is a large part of my soundtrack of the 70's. I do recall well in the eighties when BOSTON finally put out a new record(eight years later). I was less then thrilled by "Amanda" even though it is a good song. What BOSTON fans wanted most was that return to the raw energy of that first record. "Don't Look Back" suffered from not being that first record. BOSTON"s "Third Stage" is a really great album and "Cool The Engines" is a very worthy track and yet its arrival in the eighties was less stellar because too much time had passed. Sina you did a great job with this cover and I hope people check out the full record "Third Stage" by BOSTON.

I guess I had that coming. I did buy their t-shirts and albums, it all depends on what a person's definition of being a "Fan" is. I listened to them when they became popular back in the early 70's. And perhaps that track never caught my attention. I no longer have their albums. but i did find Bostons yellow "more than a feeling" cd at a garage sale. i was not a groupie of theirs. so i guess that puts me in the.. "kind of a former fan and still listens to their music and would not pass on a concert if they came to my town" category.

I really like this song. I recall vividly the build up to Boston's Third Stage release and being somewhat disappointed. I liked Amanda and this song but the album was not what I was expecting and it did have a real effect on me and made me miss the previous days of the earlier music. I have since taken a real appreciation for this album. It is much more proficient then Don't Look Back but since that record came out in 1978 and this came out in 1986 music had changed a lot and expectations were now different. Sina I believe you have seized on the best track on the record and really done it justice. I also need to go back and listen to the whole record. Great job on the hollowed out tree stumps as usual.

I've seen Boston perform a few times in the 70s in SF Bay Area, but have not heard this tune. Good going on playing through all those changes/sections, it's an interesting tune, especially those hi-hat barks you played. I've covered on drums 3 of Boston's tunes, certainly a fun band to cover for drummers & guitar players. Keep drumming!!!
