Drum and bugle corp are about military precision...look at how the drummers stare with no emotion and there is absolutely no excess movement.....watch their legs. I was in a band many years ago with a guy who played bugle in a drum and bugle corp....he was so good at his craft....he could whip the shit out of a flute which is totally unrelated to any horn...during rehearsal breaks, he would ask the drummer if he could just jam on the drum set....he would play nothing but snare....and whip the shit out of it....even our DRUMMER would say.....damn!!!!

Spanks came from Murray Gussek who marched with Colin McNutt at Santa Clara Vanguard in 1992. Pulse wasn’t even around

Pulse brought spanks back before BAC, but nowadays when someone thinks of spanks, they immediately think of BAC - they preform it so well that it’s sort of been cemented in their culture
