All scoring aside, the novelty of this book and synergy of this group will always be remembered by the drum corps community. This is one of those lines that we will reference back to for years.

I attribute no field judge to why some drum lines are getting shorted.

I agree but then it's an issue of the drill writers not staging the drumline correctly for the right moments

@@caden-brown on top of that it’s an issue of writing the hardest parts during the exposed moments.

Maybe, but also Bostons Pit book wasn’t nearly as difficult as scv, devs, or coats. But maybe that’s what you mean by no field judge because the judge mainly listens to the pit the entire time now.

That is some of the most hype writing, and even more crispy playing, that I’ve heard in awhile

Probably some of the last years of insane drumlines like these, everyones gonna start working on the Pit now that the judges only hear it at the side lines

I don’t understand why DCI only has 2 percussion judges now. Seems all too easy to have one for battery and one for pit. Or one up top and one on the field.
@erroneous34932 жыл бұрын
@@nickniehaus1763 yeah I really don’t think taking the drum judge off the field was a good thing. I think this is a legit complaint too. It’s not like complaining about electronics or unis.

I got to sit behind them during this lot right next to the basses, the sheer energy this whole line had was incredible. But shoutout to the basses, absolutely ridiculous.

They have this magical ability to sound completely, precisely, mathematically together, and yet still have such a blended, layered, almost orchestral sound. And play some of the absolutely craziest music all while making it look like the easiest thing in the world. Truly remarkable.

There should be two perc judges. One for battery, the other for FE.

completely disagree. One of the absolute hardest parts (and therefore, most important when it comes to being evaluated) of DCI percussion is front-to-back alignment and unity.
@King_Juhrama2 жыл бұрын
@@werephantomsin15 hard to get unity when you’re running back and forth between the two ensembles. The music judge up top could also be doing that.

@jaredkronenwetter74602 жыл бұрын
@@itwasbetterwithhats820 I mean. I marched snare so I can’t evaluate front ensemble much beyond hearing clean runs. But I don’t think that Bostons front ensemble is lacking enough in content to subtract that much from their battery which is playing some of the hardest book I’ve ever seen at a very high level. But none of that matters now. Coats winning drums was a bit of a head scratcher but I’m happy for them.
