@@davidcowger1903 yes there was only one Brad Delp, however Tommy DeCarlo sounds closer to the studio LP's live then even Brad did. don't get me wrong Brad sounded amazing live well into his 40's, almost impossible to recreate the vocals on those studio LP's live with all the overdubs and layering.

@timothymidgett9730 given what can be done with amp modelers, digital processing and the studio quality effects processors that are so prevalent today along with the good old tried and true Marshall design amp, it is not that hard to get that "Boston Sound". The best recorded distorted guitar sounds that Tom ever put to tape were the guitar sounds on the first record and Marshall tube amps were the foundation of that sound. Let people like Bob Bradshaw and Dave Friedman work with Barry Goodreau and and it would not be difficult at all to get that Boston sound, and when it comes to this song, Barry would play many of the parts better than Tom and Gary do because Barry played them on the record. But to your your point-why would any aspiring guitarist trying to make a name for themselves copy the "Boston sound"? All the greats had their own sounds and style--EVH, Jimmy Hendrix, Larry Carlton, Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins, Les Paul and Eric Johnson to name but a few. I think if you hooked Tom up to a polygraph machine, he would tell you that Barry is and was a better guitar player that himself. According to producer John Boylan, Barry helped Tom to be a better guitar player. Barry plays some of the most difficult "virtuoso solos" on the first and second records. Barry's played electric rhythm guitar on this song, and Barry and Tom trade lead solos on this song. Barry plays all of the slide guitar parts on this song as well.
