Boston-More Than a Feeling

I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away
So many people have come and gone
Their faces fade as the years go by
Yet I still recall as I wander on
As clear as the sun in the summer sky
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away
When Im tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped awa y. she slipped away.
Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away

Not only is this one of the greatest rock songs, I will make the bold statement that this is one of the greatest songs in history, the lyrics are beyond genius, the guitar riffs are amazing, and the vocals are extraordinary. I truly wish music would go back to being this, too bad the world changes.

Now THIS is music at it's best. Pure, clean, soul-stirring. The intro for Something About You has got to be the most pure vocal sound I have EVER heard. It gives me chills and soothes my soul simultaneously.

+jazdinotinks Heard it!? I've been jamming to Boston since my ears were first filled with their excellent sound on vinyl at 10 years old. I have an older brother who has been playing in a band with our uncle and Boston has always been a favorite of theirs as well. I have both Boston and Don't Look Back in my 300+ music collection.

Almost get tears in my eyes when I hear these guys. Just reminds me of some great times, great music and great people. You CAN go back. You just cant stay!!! I was 20 when this album dropped like a musical a-bomb on us. Just totally blew us away. Grew up with Motown, CCR, Steppenwolf...all that great music and then these guys. Just genius!!!

That song is like one of those songs that plays out of no where and sometimes if you're stressed out and that song just happens to come on the radio you suddenly forget about what you're stressed out about, at least until the song is over.

If I could go back in time I would tell Tom Scholz to make "Third Stage" the last of a trilogy and re-name it "Home At Last" using the same artwork as "Walk On" with the following songs in order: 1. We're Ready 2. The Launch (Instrumental) 3. Cool The Engines 4. Amanda 5. Walkin' at Night (Instrumental) 6. Walk On 7. Hollyann 8. Higher Power (Kalodner edit) 9. I Had A Good Time 10. We Can Make It This would had made the Boston albums a trilogy with "Boston" being the beginning of the journey with the exploding Earth, "Don't Look Back" searching for a home, and "Home At Last" ending the journey with the finding of a new world.

Tom Scholz, from an interview that can be found on here: "I grew up with classical music, so, I actually grew up listening to Beethoven and Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff". And you can hear that in the music. The layers, the melody. Had he been born 400 years ago and found a sponsor, he would be mentioned with those people.
