In the mid 70's I was a kid serving in the Navy aboard the USS America ( aircraft carrier). In 1976 we had been in the Mediterranean for most of the year and were getting ready to go back to the world (US) when someone's girlfriend sent him a Boston cassette tape. It just blew us away. By the time we reached Norfolk a couple of weeks later that tape had been duped hundreds of times. We sun-bathed on the flight deck on the way across the Atlantic listening to Boston and we knew every word to every song by the time we made it home.

Imagine being in your 20s, working so hard, to live your rock and roll dream, finding bumps in the road, then FINALLY, it happens! Seeing Tom smiling like crazy and enjoy himself not only warms my heart, but it inspires me, a 20-year-old, too. I think that him and Brad have one of the coolest rock and roll stories ever.

@@jojojojojojojojojojojojob As a huge fan, I have to say Led Zeppelin were notorious for some subpar live performances despite the very high production quality of their albums. Now again, I am a HUGE fan and I love their live sound, it's raw and it's real, and it's just the four of them with no additional musicians, but it certainly does not sound like their studio sound.

Well, we were just another band out of Boston On the road and tryin' to make ends meet Playin' all the bars, sleepin' in our cars And we practiced right out in the street No, we didn't have much money We barely made enough to survive But when we got up on stage, and got ready to play People came alive Rock and roll band everybody's waitin' Gettin' crazy, anticipatin' Love, and music, play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Dancin' in the streets of Hyannis We were getting pretty good at the game People stood in line and didn't seem to mind You know everybody knew our name Livin' on rock and roll music Never worried 'bout the things we were missin' When we got up on stage And got ready to play everybody'd listen Rock and roll band everybody's waitin' Gettin' crazy, anticipatin' Love, and music, play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Playin' for a week in Rhode Island A man came to the stage one night He smoked a big cigar Drove a Cadillac car and said Boys, I think this band's outta sight Sign a record company contract You know I've got great expectations When I hear you on the car radio You're gonna be a sensation Rock and roll band everybody's waitin' Gettin' crazy, anticipatin' Love, and music, play, play, play, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Classic Rock of the 70's and 80's had those signature bands that were one of a kind and it was a moment in history that will never be again. I remember as I was growing up then. I miss it. Everything seems so manufactured these days. Maybe I'm just getting old. But, the world seems so stale now - a shell of what it was when I was growing up.

They have never sounded as good vocalizing as the original members, once Sib, Barry and Fran were out they have not ever have been able to sound as good, even with Brad singing lead the harmonizing has not been no where near as good and I'm a guitar player that learned how to play by listening and pausing and figuring out songs section by section so I have a good ear for the vocalizations

🎸Everything… 🎸everything about this band, their music, their lyrics, musicality, musicianship… way ahead of their time... There has been absolutely nothing coming out over a past several years that comes close to Boston’s repertoire... And for the few that exist, they're ostracized by big labels and therefore, rarely discovered, rarely heard Technological advances has (sadly) made artists to reliant on and too lazy to pursue musical perfection as Boston and other artists of thieir generation did.

Shaft of light right on the band. By the time Boston Came on we were already thru the ringer. It was an endurance test.
