This guy refused to go see a doctor to see if there was a simple issue to be addressed to make his sperm more viable. The film made it a point to show he didn't want to take care of his health on his own with the constant smoking and drinking. If he was unable to have children, he should have spoken to his partner about if she would want a donor, but, instead, forced a donor upon her after he cheated on her. His ego made this situation so much worse.
