Hello Helen, Yes it's me again. 😁 I am really loving these alternate material videos. Even though they are similar to watercolours it's still beautiful to watch how to use them. I bought the Inktense pallet some time ago and it's sitting in my cart looking at me yelling out "OI, I am down here, use me." I wasn't sure what you could do with them. I was thinking about Pen and Ink drawings. Haven't got there yet. 🤣. It is lovely to see how vibrant they are and how little you need and yet again you did an amazing job showing how versatile this medium is. You can use it bold and/or delicately. You are amazing x

What I am learning from you is patience. I even do some yoga and breathing exercises before I sit down to paint now. I have a nice hot cup of tea next to me and I take time to stop and sip it before it gets cold. That way my layers dry and I’m not sitting there idle and impatient 🤣 I ordered some of these Inktense pencils and can’t wait to try them. Your instruction is spot on-how to gently apply the pigment to the paper. These are definitely not like colored pencils, which I love. They are a whole new medium. More fun to be had.🥳🎉

Thank you so much for these techniques! Pushing the color to the line instead of pulling it out makes a huge difference in the edges. This is so very delicate! You have a lovely soft hand. You said they are lightfast but they really aren’t, at least compared with major watercolor or colored pencil brands that use true pigment vs ink. Maybe it depends on what you are comfortable with, and if you intend to sell the original vs prints.

Thanks Liz. There seems to be a little bit of ambiguity about the lightfastness of them. I think it probably depends on the surface that they are used

I love the vibrancy of my Inktense pencils but have never known how to use them properly and good tutorials are hard to come by. You've made me a very happy bunny/chick. I have tried 100% cotton cold pressed but they don't blend well, I'm going to give mixed media a try. Hot pressed might be an option as there's no texture to grip too much pigment. Hi. Exactly the same as watercolour. The brushes are absolutely fine as I would expect them to be. You mentioned that it may be possible to use Inktense on fabric. It is possible and lots of fun. The only difference is you use a fabric medium or my preference is aloe gel not water. If you use water it will bleed. The aloe gel has alcohol in it so it also aids in faster drying time. Once it is dry you iron over it and it will be permanent forever, no fading. Have a great day

Once the inktense colour is dry it is permanent and will not rectivate again adding water like water colour pain does.
