I guess most of you poem junkies know this, but this shiz about Robert Frost was something I got blown away by. Everybody reads and teaches us that Frost's comments on taking the less travelled road (from Road Not Taken, obviously) signifies how daring originality and ingenuity is something that should be appreciated. However, the accurate interpretation is that humans have an intrinsic nature to lament (or praise) over our insignificant decisions in the past and cite them as what caused change in their lives. It's trying to convey that our choices don't matter, and it doesn't matter what road you take, because you're always going to regret not taking the other one. The consequence of human freedom and choice is inevitable regret. P.S.: And to any postmodernists out there who'll claim there aren't any objective interpretations to art, shove it.
@oli.chatterjee8 жыл бұрын
Xavy Johnson Tomy hey man why can't you accept that different people have different viewpoints - there's no need to be so aggressive
@qazrockz8 жыл бұрын
Ha man I exaggerated my dissent for effect. I don't get heated while arguing (generally). However, I stand by my position; postmodernism is largely bollocks. I don't mind listening to opposing views though.

how about a BoTcast on English literature books taught in schools?, particularly icse books like 'merchant of Venice' and Julius Caesar, or great expectations n other classics? even i read it in 6th or 7th standard(Merchant of Venice) and Julius Caesar in 9th and had a fantastic teacher who did justice to it.... but i found both of them pretty awesome largely due to my fantastic teacher mrs menon... Julius Caesar and merchant of Venice added a whole new dimension to my choice of books... maybe because i studied both the latin and its english translation... :)

Point of philosophy is not self indulgence but precisely understanding the nature of reality. People like Sartre and Simone de beauvoir they are just from a particular school of thought and from particular approach to philosophy called continental philosophy.

My read on the cast after watching just these two episodes Anuya: She has an individualistic personality, not getting threatened by what others think about her, open to learning new stuff and having fun Kanan: Seems like he knows a lot about this genre and in general about literature, is a funny guy joking at someone else's choices with a healthy sense of respect Sharin: Irritating af.
