Hi Alice: thanks for the question. Using the same aseptic technique (alcohol to the rubber stopper) and using the needle you'll use to inject the skin - place a volume of air equal to the volume you'll need to withdraw - into the bottle, invert the bottle and withdraw the amount needed. Opening the bottle is not considered to be aseptic. Hope that helps!!

Super amazing presentation. Very detailed information I didn't know that helps to do every single step with high standards of care and professionalism. THANKS AND THANKS.I would ask you to share with us, how to calculate the units in a syringe, as I have seen soo many videos and it changes so much based on syringe size that it comes to be confusing. THANKS

Hi, Ive seen that 10ml bottles only have a very short shelf life, therefore is the a way of extracting just a short amount of the powder to use for a few uses? I have spare empty sterile bottles and saline/bac water.

So with the reconstituted bottle, we can later poke the rubber a few times with various needles to draw the product for patients' use? Is this good practice?
@II-gc9ki4 жыл бұрын
It is illegal in Canada to use single vial medication on more than one patient.

great video thank you, one question, how would the doctor withdraw the botox/xeomin once its reconstituted? is it just by injecting the appropriate needle into the bottle and withdraw? or opening the bottle to withdraw?
@facesdoctor7 жыл бұрын
Hi Alice: The CDC states that it's not acceptable to open the bottle for multiple medication draws. You need to access through the stopper. Thanks!

Can you show us how to reconstitute the amount of neurotoxin you need and how much saline to add to your syringe to disperse the correct amount of units needed into the muscles. Such as the Frontalis muscle. If you want 6 units dispersed over 10 sites, how to you know how much saline to draw up?

Hi there ... very educational. I have some questions though... -- do the units come in different strength? and if yes - what does it depend on? ... my anesthetist told me i need 100 unit ... so i would assume the will reconstitute a 100 vial Botox + saline ... but i educated my self and i looked up a chart of the propositions ... and it was confusing. Thank you ahead for your answer.

28 days? Whats about if I freeze?
@facesdoctor4 жыл бұрын
Hello: You cannot freeze the product after you have reconstituted it. Prior to reconstitution you can freeze the product and keep it for use prior to the expiration date stamped on the bottle. Thank you for your question.

you didnt show how much bacteriostatic water is added to the botox?
@facesdoctor4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michele: as mentioned in the video - the volume of saline varies depending on the product used and the desired units per volume. (units per volume are largely driven by practitioner preference) For a full review on how to calculate volume please see our video on those calculations: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGnFdnWIi9t1mtk . Thanks for your question.

can placing a volume of air in bottle cause contamination?
@facesdoctor3 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for your question. If you use proper aseptic technique as described in the video, contamination cannot occur. Thanks!

Do I need freeze the vial ( with saline ) >?
@facesdoctor3 жыл бұрын
Hello Binh! Thanks for the question. Once reconstituted, neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin, Jeuveau, etc) should not be frozen. The only time you can freeze them is prior to reconstitution. Also, the bottles of bacteriostatic saline themselves should not be frozen - they can be stored at room temperature (20° to 25° C) or (68° to 77° F). Thanks again!

Clearly old vid. Preservative Bac stat is used now. Less pain for pt. among other reasons. Everything changes, certainly from 2015. Great job tho!

Hi Tovah: Thank you for your comment - not sure why there is confusion - please see 2:43 - Bacteriostatic Saline used in the video even in 2015. Thanks for viewing.

Do you have any data to support your "24h disgard rule" or do you have that info from tik-tok?
@facesdoctor10 ай бұрын
Hello: Yes, here's the link for the Allergan Reconstitution Instructions: bit.ly/46vcJAv Please note that, as stated in the video beginning 1:19, if you use Bacteriostatic Saline, the CDC allows you to use that vial for 28 days before discarding it. Also, this video was created long before tik-tok was created 😀and all information provided by FACES is supported by science. Thank you for your comment!
