Rex, you can’t declare infinite blending rights during Rex Month. That’s like having three wishes and your first wish is for infinite wishes - it doesn’t work. Also, the vault is like carpooling - The driver (Somm) chooses the music, shotgun (Mooch) shuts their cakehole.

And, that there is nothing wrong with them. JW Black is a great blend for the price point, it literally was my bridge into Islay Single Malts.

I really love your video reviews. As a devout Scotch drinker, I've never found an American Whiskey that I can enjoy neat. Of course once I became legal age, and I'm 63 now, I went through the Jack Daniel's and other U.S. brands, but never found them as appealing as my Scotch blends. I totally get the smoke note in JW red. I think it is because there is so much nothing else going on with it flavor wise except the slight smoke note. One of the main reasons I don't like it is that it is just the smoke without complexity. I am not much of a smokey whiskey drinker though, except some of the generic background stuff like J & B, or some of the more meaty complex american malts like Corsair Tripple Smoke.

I drank johnnie walker red label for many years, but I think in the last two years something has changed. In Romania, either they buy counterfit Red Label and sell it everywhere because we don't have many liquor importing companies, or the Red Label has gone through some changes. The Red Label with the old label with rounded letters and the gold guy walkin was the best. Now, the one with the new label with caption letters and the red guy walking tastes like sh**. Does anyone know something about this?

Hey Boys at the Vault I’ve been a huge fan right from episode 1. I will say that the childishness of this entire month has been a little distracting from the quality of the Whisky Vault from the whisky education stand point. Maybe I’m just an old arsehole(!) but I’m really looking forward to the old Vault again.

I have to completely agree with this sentiment whole heartedly. The occasional ball-busting and shenanigans can be fun, but this whole thing has gotten out of hand. I'm actually not enjoying or looking forward to episodes like I used to. I actually have to wait for a while after a new upload is available before I'm willing to watch. We'll see what happens after october, but this channel is on the bubble for me at this point.
