Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s rich with ore and lumber waiting to be exploited. Never one to miss an opportunity for profit, you realize that the new rail lines are the key to moving those valuable goods to their destinations. So put on your investor hat and get ready to start The Soo Line.

I asked my cousin, fresh out of his second year of college, this weekend if he was a board game snob “like me.” This was the first time in my life I have considered myself picky over anything but films or television. You keep going you board game hipster!

Absolutely fantastic review! Our group can't get enough of The Soo Line. The fact that not everyone gets control of a railroad makes it infinitely more interesting. It forces tense temporary alliances as well as encouraging the "passive" investors to lobby just about everybody else at the table. Great fun!

Love your videos! Btw are you using the age of steam deluxe chips? If so, how do you like them for this style of game? I’ve been trying to decide what chips to buy for cube rails games. Too many choices out there :)

Only having three companies was the big turnoff for our group. Not making a decision during operation rounds is frustrating to me, even in a shortish game.

I can see that. We tend to have a lot of table talk so even though I didn't control a company, for example, I would voice my suggestions and there would be discussions constantly on the best moves between the investors. It's definitely a weird one.

Great! How, when can we expect Table Battles and the rest of Hollandspiele? ^_^

I haven't played Table Battles yet. It was kind of off my radar, to be honest. But I do have a couple of other Hollandspiele titles in my collection and the current sale they are running is tempting :)

Sweet video. How did you mount your board?

Also where did you get those chips?

Thanks! I used chipboard and photo mount spray. Then I carefully cut it in half and used bookbinding tape to keep it all together. I picked up the chips many years ago from discount poker shop.

@@BottomShelfBG I was about to ask those exact questions. It looks real good. How does it compare to other cube rails games? Also, have you played Age of Steam? (I first thought the chips were the Age of Steam Deluxe edition chips).

@@KristofferYiFredriksson I've now played Chicago Express, American Rails, The Soo Line, and Northern Pacific. Chicago Express is probably the best of the bunch and Americans Rails is a more Euro take on it. The Soo Line is like funky interpretation of a cube rails game. I dig it, but probably wouldn't want to play it on repeat. I have just started playing Age of Steam with the deluxe reprint. The chips are kind of disappointing, unfortunately.
