Blues music was influenced by West African music passed down by enslaved people from West Africa, as well as European-style folk music passed down by European immigrants to the U.S. The harmonica was invented in Germany as a piano tuner and it reached the U.S. via German immigrants. Little Walter was a famous Black musician who revolutionized its use in Blues music. It’s funny how an African American contributed to the modern music of his ancestral homeland.

Corey Harris, a modern African American blues man, narrated. It was eye and ear opening to hear the sounds of traditional African music in relation to what we call The Blues.
