Bought an Infiniti M45 and brought it to me to find any hidden issues. (Post-Purchase Inspection)

While it is best to inspect something BEFORE purchase, sometimes things don't work out for a pre-purchase inspection, and you have to settle for a shakedown after buying the vehicle.

I'm having intermediate starting issues with my 2009 M4s. Initially thought it was the starter, already replaced the battery. It had done this a few months ago and that's why we replaced the battery.

That Thang is Mean. Love the Infiniti M45s and M35s. especially RWD. That def looks like engine was replaced. Id def flush the coolant, drop the trans pan and losen around the filter to drain out 8 to 9 qts and replace with OEM, make sure it has OEM plugs, and check all connections. I've owned 6 infinitis, 2 were M35s. Be careful with the oil stick measurement, it has been said that the design of how they put the stick in engine to measure was off so it reads lower than it really is on the stick. It caused a lot of VQ owners to over fill oil which caused leaking from seals. The VQs also burn oil between changes. usually only a half qt or qt. so i always changed my oil every 3k instead of 4k or 5k. My opinion is GTX full synthetic, or royal purple run the best in the VQs. The I30s and Maximas liked Mobile 1 synthetic better, go figure. I got lucky with my 2008 M35 because I bought it with only 40k on it and it wasnt burning oil at all, I switched it to GTX and always changed every 3k and now it's still not burning at all and Im over 100k. This M45 V8 IS a different beast though, so im not sure if it has same issues as M35 but the forums and online clubs seem to say they do. Love these cars tho. wish theyd put woodgrain on the wheel tho. I wanted to say I was grippin grain when i swang and bang like I was riding clean poppin trunk in Htown or Mississippi Mayne. all my Infinitis my Pops called Japanese Cadillacs. I thought that was so true. Its VQ Infiniti Gang Gang fo life tho. My Japanese Cadillac is my habitat, from Hawaii to Dub V, I rode across the map, always had a fly shawty ridin shotgun and in the back, no cap i dont battle rap, i spit facts 🗿

@@EdBwoy I have a 2001 Infiniti i30. Yes, it is old but I love my car I bought it brand new and never had any major problems with it. When driving, it started to idle very low and then regain speed. Also, it would take a while to start. I took it to my mechanic he said it was the computer. I replaced that it still would not start. Then I was told it was electrical and that the circuit board was bad and it would need a harness. I know if I take it to Infiniti it would be a very pricey repair. With the car market the way it is I wanted to wait before purchasing a new car because the prices are ridiculous. Thank you for responding would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi I’m looking into buying a 2008 Infiniti M45 it is the base model not the Sport model. And it has 70k miles which yeah it is low mileage and there selling it for just $2,000. The catch is the car hasn’t been driven or run for nearly 2 years. And when they tried starting it wouldn’t start. Put a new battery still wouldn’t. They said that when it run and drive it didn’t have any issues. Also it’s a older guy selling it, it was his sons car but he moved and the car just stayed there collecting dust. So what do you guys think should I buy it or pass?

Hey brother I have the same car and mine keeps overheating.. I changed the thermostat, water pump, bled out the system right. Except it still over heats when I give her a little gas.the fluid bubbles in the coolant reservoir

Unfortunately if the fluid is visibly bubbling in the reservoir, that indicates a serious breach into the cooling system. Exhaust gases are coming out of the combustion side and making it into the coolant. It could be due to a bad gasket or even a crack somewhere, but the engine is going to need to be taken apart to at least investigate it. Some people find it easier/more economical to just replace it depending on the comparative labor costs and the extent of damage.

I just changed out the radiator in mine too and now I'm about to change the fan module as well..My temp stays in the good though..I truly enjoy driving my M45 alot and I love the strong engine take off💨💨💨.
