Boulder Dash - [Arcade, Data East] Failed longplay (1990)

A miserable attempt to coin feed through Data East's Boulder Dash (1990)... you actually need gameplay skills to play this game ;)
The main reason i recorded it was to make a reference for emulator programmers to use when trying emulating the game. I managed to play to map 5-2 and gave up after playing the level for about 20 minutes :/
This video was uploaded almost 3 years ago exactly today but i have kept the video private listed since it was a bit embarrassing not to be able to coin feed through it :)
The sound and video is not syncing perfectly though because of my recording setup.

Recorded from the original arcade PCB using Micomsoft RGB capturecard SC-500N1 and Xsync-1, software used is AmarecTV and Virtualdub.

Tips: - The slime has the propertie to be a "dynamite" when is touched by enemies, but you can't die if you touch them (also if all slimes are bloked, can be transformed in diamonds. - DON'T FORGET THE EGG. Can be golden gems (+10 in the counter gem) 1up or BONUS Stage, but beware, 1up can be destroy if falling from a high sqm or a rock knocks. - The shiny barrier of wall is a magic rock transform. You need to throwing all stone that you can, cause all stone are transformed in diamonds so, is more easy to get the limit of the diamonds of the stage, but beware, the shiny wall has limit of time so, you need throw all stone that you can or need to die if you don't get all diamods and all enemies are destroyed. - Beware of the traps. If you trapped you be free by pressing A + B (same time) to the wall that block you pass but this has a cost of 20 seconds (if you waste all time, get all diamonds and get the exit, you must repeat the stage cause you need get the goal, in diamonds and in time so, don't get trapped many times or, if you can't avoid, don't waste all time or you must repeat the stage. - Can touch the gas (pink ball) and the flame (flame haha) but if those items get 'connect' you will die cause is dynamite (equal to touch and enemy or a rock falling in you).

Here's another tip: play the Japanese version. The Japanese version requires 18 diamonds on stage 2-5 at normal difficulty while the international version requires 30 diamonds which is impossible to achieve without losing a life.

@@bunidanoable Isn't a problem to get the 30 diamondsif you save all lives, so you can't have proble making a sacrificie in losing 1 live jaja. To be honest, I love that changes in the diferents versions, if the game has them. Not all game in the diferents versions haa those types of changes on it.

I didn't know there was a modern (1990) arcade version of Boulder Dash. I played the original one in the early 80s and a couple of home computer versions up to perhaps 1994. this looks quite interesting and quite complicated for an arcade game. Very nice.
