I, like many others who visit Jason's channel, grew up with Pokemon. But I am also a fellow musician. I have to admit, Pokemon theme song or not, this is a fucking beautiful cover. Chilling, heart-wrenching, and soulful. The man has a powerful voice, whether he's singing about catching 'em all or not.

I love the way he uses the tunnel dynamics to have such a big influence on the sound. I mean, sure, everyone can go to a tunnel and use the reverb as a natural "effect", but how many would think of using his position, relative to the mic, to create such big dynamics as he showcases here? It just goes to show his experience as a musician, and his actual skill in his craft. Amazing. Keep it up Jason! :)

+tatskamies He is, but if Pokemon had come out during an age where the internet was prevalent everywhere, he would have been a mainstream chart topping artist by now, all the labels would've flocked to him from the exposure. But he's much older now, so that road might've been missed, his range is amazing though, this dude can sing. It's just a different kind of success. A bit sad, but his voice is still forever etched in the heads of the millions of people who grew up on the theme song, and those who grew up to be musically inclined can especially appreciate him and his influence. In that sense he's on par with even Greenday and other famous bands and artists.

Okay, it's a cover. i've lost count of how many covers i've heard......That written, i love this arrangement! From the looking to the side and pausing around the 48 sec mark, to the walking back and forth, and the intensity throughout the song. Add to that playing a guitar. There's a lot of things Jason does that i don't see from most musicians. i definitely like seeing this side of him.
