Excellent presentation. Clear, concise, comprehensive. The Council Tool Company makes the very finest forestry tools. I own multiple tools which were made by them and I love them all.

Rooster is very knowledgeable about axes. He's done a great job designing and working with Council Tool and CT is probably the best production axe manufacturer in the US because of him.

These are the all American companies that I stand behind. If you're going to spend your money on something. Buy an American product that all materials are sourced in America 🇺🇸 help those hard working families out!

I know I’m late to the show but just got my first CT… a 3.5lb Jersey 32 inch sport utility. I’m blown away, it’s absolutely beautiful (as a user) the handle is PHENOMENALLY finished and the sport utility finish is gorgeous. Almost like a blued steel that’s been burnt. I can’t get over how aesthetically pleasing it is but it also chops very well.

i got my carving axe from Council and i am hooked. great product and I like the heft of the axe. ill be getting me some more from council in the near future

Considering CT over Gransfors Bruks due to the grind angle. Grind angle on their forest axe is 15 degrees, just too thin for North America, as nice as it feels.

I own several council tool axes. Most are premium axes. I've got a lot of pride in all American made and designed tools. Some axes I use some I will not. My goal is to own all axes that they produce over time as a collection. When you buy American you are helping American families. If you're going to spend money buy not just from an American company but one that uses all materials made in America. Another all American company I'm fond of is Hill people gear. Check them out! The hill brothers charisma and competence for the love of their designs reminds me alot of Roosters competence for the love of his designs. Some wonderful Americans that will go down in history for their contributions to this great nation. 👍

I have a friend who fells trees and he keeps a boys axe on him while working. Wedge banging and all. Custom white oak 30 in handle on his. I have fallen in love with the boys axes myself and I'm a 6'4" 250lb man. I still love my big ole fireman's axe certain things though.

I wish there was more said about applications for each axe. I’m looking for an axe to take into the bwca. My last trip I had a hard time finding wood and what I did find was impossible to split without a larger tool. Where does a guy start?

I got a itch for some good solid USA made axe. Paid the money Council tools asked for. Got split handle, skewed axe head, another split handle, 26" actual on 28, light hallowed wood handle. So far I got 0/5 from Amazon. And I'm not even picky about grain orientation or any of that. Just send me an axe that is not doa. 0/5 is quite a conscious decision and quite determined to pawn some downgraded stock on Amazon.

The ax handle thing is always problematic. What makes a good handle, how its hung, how to tend to it and upkeep it....and how not to BREAK it. Its a lot to expect retailers to have a working knowledge of, and even a novice consumer. That's why it gets tricky when someone claims to know what a bad handle looks like and then expects the retailer or manufacturer to bend over backwards to make it right, in whatever way is being demanded.

Camp carver for people who don't want to spend $100 on a carver. £150 in UK. SO ABOUT $175 here in UK well over priced!
@sunnybeach48372 жыл бұрын
Check out their flying fox. It's got a lot of the characteristics as the camp carver accept just a few differences. It's 1060 steel which is good steel and it's a throwing axe as well lol but it's got a hardened pole and same flat grind as the carver so it carves really well. Plus you can choke up on it. I've got both, love em both

Great review, however, everyone is done with ferro rod action bro. It’s a fun party trick, but, just go buy 10 Bic lighters, if you don’t smoke, you should be good for life… That is what I called “hung proud.” Just sayin, I’m a realist. Thanks for the great review of a great line though…
