I can't see properly so apologise if there are spelling mistakes. Viv Richards never wore a helmet & faced Lillie and Thompson who is the fastest bowler in history. There might, might be bowlers who have bowled quicker balls, but no one has been as consistently fast as Thomo. Now l have never faced him but hearing from the greats of WSC & many are legends now Thomo then & till now is the fastest. Again Viv Richards, Hogg at the G bowled a ball that kicked off a length and hit Viv in the mouth. He was hurt but never went down and then had his composer back in a instant. He bent down and picked his two front teeth up which broke in a V-shape. The Doctor came out and gave Viv a couple of Panadol and some water and Viv gave him his teeth. Now have a guess what Rodney bowled 1st ball after the break, pun intended. Yes your right a beautiful bouncer just on middle & leg. Have a guess what Viv did, your right again as he stepped inside the line and hit the ball & if you ever see it l didn't & wasn't sure where the ball went. Not to worry as the great D.K.LILLEE was under it at fine leg and was ready to catch it. Then Dennis watching the ball stood up and watched it sail 20 rows back over his head into the stadium. Viv & cricket at that time was brilliant. The West Indians were starting to stamp their place in history. To see Michael Holding pushing off the sight screen & to watch him bowl was sheer poetry in motion. Yes they were great days with legends of the game, but l tell you that World Cup we just seen, that was top shelf. It's absolute viewing to watch so many close finishes and the improvement of lesser known teams is to me remarkable to where they were. 20/20 has given cricketers from these nations the opportunity to play with the best & it shows. Hopefully within the next decade the improvement will be seen in Test cricket 👍🏏

People recognised him waited just to have a longer glimpse of him but he maintained his composure. Shivaji park is a public park where thousands visit almost everyday.

His first few tours.. England, where he scored his first century.. Australia 1992, announced him as the best of the times along with Lara.. & then South Africa 1995 .. The Sachin azhar show at cape town is probably the best couple of sessions of batting ever in history of test cricket. Even though he became more popular through ODI cricket.. Sachin, I am just four months older to you. When you first stepped on the cricket field to play an international match I was surprised to find you playing for the country. I had passed 10th standard then. You were the youngest player to have represented the country. I remember this event where you were hit on the nose by a ferocious ball from Waqar Yunis and even then you did not leave the ground and continued playing the test match. Throughout your playing career we never found you indulged in any fight or argument with your co-players. On many instances we found you accepting calmly the decisions given by the umpires on the field despite few decisions being a blunder mistakes. Your work ethics was exceptional.
