And it's all mandatory time so no gain time. Only thing that trumps 10-20-Life is Youthful Offender sentence is you're under 21 which is how I avoided the 20.

These laws take a few years to roll in and affect ordinary people. 1970-1980s you have people like BJ being born, that's not a large gap from Jim Crow Laws. 1968 Civil Rights Act gets passed, people didn't just turn off their racism OVERNIGHT.
