The same thing can be said for hair cream and hair chemical treatments too! It's strong chemicals that make contact with your scalp, and breathing those chemical fumes in order to have non black hair. I don't hate the blacks who bleach (all over the world, not just a Jamaican issue btw, but my dad is from ja, so I know about it from women in my community in NY, but the Africans were doing it too!). Evolutionarily, it has become a trend for some people who feel that life is easier bleached. Pressures in their environment (pressure to be as "white" as possible and everything but black) cause people to behave in an extreme fashion in order to better survive. It's an abberant, evolutionary adaptation in a sense! Not to make excuses, but we have to find a way to understand our sisters and brothers who have become lost in this God forsaken, anti black system. We won't go to the corner store without a hair relaxer or a lace front wig and lashes. We don't feel beautiful and comfortable in our own skin! First step to true black woman self love- look in the mirror and love yourself without the weave, nails, lashes or chemical hair treatments. We have to love ourselves exactly how we came out of the womb. Thank God for artists like Bounty- he has the courage of his convictions! I agree with him whole heartedly.

Honestly I think reggae music has declined since the new set of DJ's - there is no love and unity, when Yellow Man, even Stichie, Big Youth, - Barrington Gregory and Dennis, even Coco Tea, now there is pure mix up, 7 years you are both in the same age range, what you don't have is consciousness, and if you had love inside of you, it would all flow out, there must be a better way to spread the vibes, along with all of this is just bringing pure aggression. You new bread including the ladies is pure foolishness. I think you all should pack up and leave, Jamaican can survive without you all with the legacy already made 30 years ago, the new lot of male and female dj's have just messed everything up.
