Love this and have done something close. My only thing is I do prefer to use the higher end bourbon I will be using to make my cocktails. My continuity game is fierce!! I used raw sugar, so I’m down to trying honey. I didn’t use orange. I’m betting that’s a game changer!

If I get a higher class bourbon for this will it turn out better? Not to say that that’s not high class I just don’t know anything about this process

It will be better but don't go too high class as that would be a waste of good drinking bourbon. Shoot for something middle of the road price wise, something good enough to drink alone but still won't break the bank!

Should not add the orange pith, it is very bitter. Just use a peeler and get the zest instead. :>
