Brock is an adorable man, more or less like Bourdain was as well. There is something fascinating about intelligent, sensitive people who work with food, a thing common to all of us, collectively, like air and water.

Very interesting to watch this after reading the news about his alcoholism and recovery. He definitely overdid it but it was always clear that he was genuinely passionate about spirits and bourbon in particular. I'll miss Sean Brock as a voice in the bourbon world but health is the most important thing by far.

Does Sean look less and less healthy over the past few years or am I just imagining it?

He looks fat. Nothing wrong with that but its a recipe for an early death.

I imagine his business is experiencing and creating flavour in as many foodstuffs as he can sample, ergo steamed vegetables accompanied by distilled water isnt a regular. Having said that, I would consider his diet consists of a great many whole foods, almost no processed rubbish aka McGarbage, and very little junk.... i suspect he may actually be healthier than you think.
