Pls don't retire Dana, I'm still saving up for a Bourgeois and it needs your touch 🙂

Great interview, Dana and and his crew build some of the best guitars 🎸 I have a Vintage-D purchased in 211, one of the most beautiful guitars, sounds amazing, craftsmanship is excellent, THANKS for sharing.

I tried out a bourgeois touchstone yesterday, comparing it straight to a Furch vintage 3 OM. I thought it looked better, and had a softer tone than the Furch. Both had ups and downs, but... The Furch offers 1 thing that the bougeois doesn't: The option to have it with a cutaway. Do you think these will come with cutaways? Because if they do, I'm a customer considering I already have a Furch so I would prefer a different brand for variation

It's hard to say whether cutaways versions will be included in the Touchstone Series. We wouldn't be surprised if they will, so never say never! 😉

I think Bourgeois guitars are wonderful, truly outstanding instruments. But, if Dana doesn't think the 3k+ price tag area should be indicative of a "professional grade" guitar, I would just point out that by far most "professional" acoustic guitar players are using J-45's, D-18's. or D-28's.
@thefellowshipofacoustics Жыл бұрын
That's very true Bob! But over here, the D18 and D28 share roughly the same price as the Touchstone series :)
@bobaldo2339 Жыл бұрын
That is true here as well. Yet his implication seemed to be that they are not quite "professional grade", that designation being reserved for boutique guitars.@@thefellowshipofacoustics

Yeah it’s pretty annoying with the boutique builders. It’s a lot of snake oil and nonsense.

I respect their reputation and would love to buy one but I just purchased an Eastman E6SS-TC by stumbling across it in a shop, playing it and not being able to put it down, it's excellent, quality fit and finish, playability and sound, in my humble opinion it is a professional grade guitar already at a great price point, what's to be gained by simply paying more.

I played many models in Nashville. Not impressed. Set up was not that great. Tone was very bright on all models and basically priced same or more than Martins / D18. Nothing against Chinese guitars as I own a nice $3000 classical from China. But these are priced the same as Martins and they are not better and they won’t hold the value also.
@thefellowshipofacoustics3 ай бұрын
That's unfortunate, we always make sure the setup on all guitars is well done! And in our experience, they're not too bright and can certainly compete with Martin :)

Good interview! I still think that most people will spend their $3K on an American made Martin instead.

@@soofitnsexy haha ok I misinterpreted your reply and thought that you meant that the Chinese Bourgeois is better than a Martin Standard!
@BulldoggerJK10 ай бұрын
The touchstone is an asterisk guitar. When people ask you what you have, you’ll have to say Bourgeois and then explain it’s mostly made in China. Just buy an Eastman. They obviously can copy a Bourgeois for a fraction of the price. They already are.
@soofitnsexy Жыл бұрын
these should be at 1500 to 2k at most THEN THEY WOULD SELL A MILLION! just like their electrics...A martin costs just about the same and beats these
@thefellowshipofacoustics Жыл бұрын
Not sure if I agree with that! A Martin usually costs you more than these and I think these could beat a Martin for sure... ;)

@@soofitnsexy I disagree. Martins are unquestionably good but essentially production line construction based on long reputation. Bourgeois are a smaller concern and have taken the product to another level. BTY I have owned Martins AND Bourgeois.
