Plenty of history on that side of the country. And plenty of reminders about our past heritage. I just love inland Australia. The tourists can have the coast 🤭

Thanks Laurie. What an iconic Australian town. I'd love to drive Mildura - Pooncarrie- Louth- Bourke before I depart this wonderful Earth. I love the mountains, but I know them. The Mallee, and Western NSW are enigmas to me, and therefore interesting. Cheers. 🇦🇺👍

That looks interesting. Via Menindee, Wilcannia? Jump in the Jalopy and do it.

@@WORLD_NATURE_FAN @WORLD_NATURE_FAN I have a keyboard FB friend who lives over that way. Do you travel much? I've never been to the States except through my son's videos which I do the production on. He's toured there 5 or 6 times. He's probably seen more of your country than many Americans. Check him out ... www.youtube.com/@brettkibblewhite6466/videos Cheers, Laurie.

A very interesting place you visited. Yes, ants can be very nasty. I've dealt with some Fire Ant colonies in the past. So that lock on the river, is it still usable?

Hi there James. I have no idea, I didn't look for it in 2019 - video coming soon. But the rivers are dry more than they are running these days. And that ant, I can still feel it drilling into me, and that was 14 years ago. 😂

Sorry Laurie but I had a bit if a laugh when the ants got you. Great video. I did not realise that Bourke was as large as it is. I thought it was a outback place with hardly anyone living there. Checking up I found it had a population of 1824 in the 2016 census

G'day Brian. I uploaded that ant footage in June 2010 - it's had 336 views. Yes, Bourke has a history. It was a major river port back in the day. I have a follow up coming from 2019 in the near future.

@@lauriekibblewhite Hi Laurie. I just realised I was confusing Bourke with Birdsville.
