Bourke Parakeet are wonderful!

Bourkes are true cuddlers and love to be held. Their song is simiar to a nightingale and they make awesome birds for apartment living. Bourke’s parakeets are friendly and smart. They can make wonderful pets if hand-fed . Bourke’s parakeets interact well with other birds, which makes them a superlative addition to aviaries or multi-bird households.

Have a male bourke, 5 months in he is gaining confidence every day, I am at home with him and he is a real little character, loves tickles & cuddles& has just begun to " step up" he is a happy little soul and seems very content.

To keep them cheerful and healthy requires only regular flight time, a mate, proper diet and human interaction parrots, such as the cockatiel or budgie, the Bourke’s parakeet is not as active.
