Bournonville is absolutely lovely choreography, so glad that it is preserved in new artists. I wish that the whole world caught on a bit more. I'm an American guy, so obviously it is spreading..

@emperoroberon Oh I can assure you that Bournonville is VERY technically demanding. His choreography always looks so easy, but he always picked very difficult small jumps.

This is a very interesting view of how early 19th century ballets would appear. This dance is very charming with a pastoral feel tho not too technically demanding.

Not true. Those lower legs are BURNING. Ever actually done Bournonville correctly?

Appreciate the petit allegro and complexity of Bournonville style but can see why it is adapted in modern choreography rather than actually performed that much -- bit old fashioned and no longer competitive with advanced ballet technique today. I think Pierre Lacotte is a master of incorporating the essence of Bournonville into some of his choreography (Marco Spada for example).

You LITERALLY have no idea what you are talking about. With the application of what is expected from dancers to accomplish with the increased demands of basic technique coupled with this choreography or even the Bounonville classes, this is actually some of the most difficult dancing you are going to do.
