Is it difficult to get into this residence hall? Does it fill up quickly? Are the bathrooms cleaned by the janitors or something the students have to do?

Incoming freshmen are given a random time ticket to pick housing. I lived in an LLC my freshman year so things were slightly easier for me. My roommate and I registered together, I think my time ticket was sooner then hers. The LLC had plenty of options for me to choose from. As for housing selection after that, the higher your year ranking, the sooner you get to select housing. The rooms in Bousfield went really quickly. My roommate and I were lucky to find a place that still had two individual bedrooms in the same living space. There is a cleaning service provided by the university. In normal dorm life with communal bathrooms it is important that you still clean up after yourself. In the suite style living, cleaning services visited once a week on a regular schedule. My roommates and I had to make sure we didn't leave anything out on the countertop or shower shelves because it would be thrown away. We just stored our belongings, such as hand soup and hair washing products, in the little cubby/shelf area. Hope this was helpful! Sorry for not responding sooner, my notifications have been off for some reason :/

I read that they have a floor for transfer students. Is it only for transfers that are undergraduates?
@teresa_la_turista5 жыл бұрын
The 1st floor of Bousfield is open specifically to both undergraduate and graduate transfer students. I believe Scott Hall also has housing available for transfer students as well.

would this be considered a single or a double?

This is suite style, so a single with a shared living space and bathroom.

hi so I’m an incoming freshman and was wondering if Bousfield has a lot of freshman? or is it for upperclassmen?
@teresa_la_turista5 жыл бұрын
Hey! Bousfield is in fact only for upperclassmen. Nugent and Wassaja are two newer dorms open to freshmen. Both are nice and up to date like Bousfield.

@@teresa_la_turista I want to go to U of I and I really like Nugent and Wassaja, but how can I ensure to have a dorm room in these halls for my freshman year? Or how can I have a greater chance of having a dorm room here?
@teresa_la_turista5 жыл бұрын
If I am correct the time ticket for picking dorms is random. To have a chance at staying in Nugent or Wassaja you should put those as your top choices. I also advise you to link your name and your potential roommates online that way you can reserve the room for the both of you. I had an earlier time than my roommate freshman year so I was able to get both of us in a room we liked. You also might want to look into applying for an LLC in either of the dorms, that's what I did for FAR. Here's a link with the UIUC LLCs on campus: housing.illinois.edu/Living-Options/Living-Learning-Communities Wassaja has a Business LLC and Nugent a Honors LLC. Hope this was helpful!

Are most dorms at uiuc this good?
@teresa_la_turista5 жыл бұрын
Housing varies here. The nicer/newer dorms are located in the Ikenberry Commons (Bousfield, Nugent, and Wassaja) and so are the old ones (Barton, Lundgren, and Taft-Van Doren). There are other halls on campus that offer Living Learning Communities and some of them just have more students with similar backgrounds/things in common. I can elaborate more if you so wish me to. That's all I'll share for now though lol

honestly anything with an A/C is decent. I lived in Snyder my freshman year and I had no complaints!

Teresa Riles Does it cost significantly more to stay in a nicer/newer dorm? Also? Are these rooms shared or individual?
