This was a solid review, I think your opinion is pretty accurate however the Gate Keeper pickups sounded pretty nice, yes, the neck was a little lower in tone and might mud out. Your playing was appreciated as you could hear the pickups, no crazy playing or effects chain that destroys what you really want to hear when comparing.

I AGREE WITH YOU THE PORTER SOUNDED BETTER .BUT THE GATEKEEPER ARE NICE BUT NOT BOUTIQUE A LITTLE MORE DISTORTED IN THE NECK.

The Porters sounded a little more powerful and open, but the Gatekeepers sounded very good. A/B tests can be weird. I wonder how much more similar they'd have sounded if you just sat down to play something and adjusted the amp for the specific pickup, etc. If money were no object, I'd go for the Porters, but "boutique" sound is all about the A/B comparison, and that's not what I'm about. Also, for me, however the neck pickup sounds is just how it sounds. Too bright? Too muddy. It's gonna be what it's gonna be. I set up my sound for the bridge.
