You know Tim... 1. There are more species of catfish than any other kind in the fish family ... 2. Catfish have taste buds all over their ENTIRE body... they have LOTS on their whiskers though. 3. The catfishes' lateral line, also known as the catfishes' mud vein... actually hasn't a DAMN thing to do with any mud or even can give it a muddy flavor... it's more like a metallic flavor and it's all the nerves in that particular part of the meat you're tasting when the nerves get so thick they actually give the meat a greyish or silvery hue as they run down the body longitudinally down each side of the catfish connecting all of those lateral pores , taste buds, and other sensitive parts of the catfish that make them such efficient adaptable hunters and that makes them just like you.
