Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzbin.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

I used to be a form over function on my hunting bow kind of guy. Short single stabilizer was a staple. Until one day I finally understood what a perfectly balanced bow should feel like. I started playing with weights, lengths and angles. Until I came to finding what works best for me. The extra about 13 ounces my bow gained in weight was nullified by the extra accuracy and hold. Now both my main and backup bows are perfectly balanced and require zero torque at full draw. I still check my bubble, but do not have to fight it. Groups have shrunk and my trust and faith in my equipment have skyrocketed. simply put correct stabilization is the most important upgrade I have made to my archery equipment. Thanks for the great info!

Thank you for mentioning the taking of a life of an animal! So many new "hunters" desperately need this advice!! What I have seen of them displaying what and how they have done it, makes me sick! A hunter does NOT allow it's kill to suffer, aims and executes only when they are sure of the shot. A hunter does NOT let drops of rain stop them from tracking an injured animal if something goes amiss to put and end to their pain. A hunter does NOT go out to kill just for fun. They utilize all of the kill either by sharing with family and friends or donating to a homeless shelter anything over their needs! THIS IS A HUNTER!!! Thank you also for providing such a great video for us just picking up a bow for the first time to help us to become a good hunter.

Probably the best advice at the perfect time. I had a Halon 6 and I was the best shot that I have ever been with that bow. Got a VXR 31.5 2 months ago and have been very discouraged with how much worse my shooting was. As soon as I saw this, everything clicked. I have been fighting my left and right balance the whole time. I thought my hand position was wrong and have been trying to find a torque free grip when it is actually a balance problem. 👍💯

Completely agree with your outlook on your hunting rig. I want it to basically be as good as a target rig but setup for the field or tree stand. Accuracy isn’t any less important when you’re looking for a quick, efficient kill shot. In most ways it’s more important like you said! 👍🏻

one of the best things Tim Gillingham told me is "6" stabilizers are the biggest sellers and do the least for your setup". If your stabilizer doesnt have a tunable weight system it does nothing but offset some sight weight. I dont think a 15" front bar is crazy for western hunting but it might be a little cumbersome in the midwest and south. great video

Shooting lately I've noticed I'm dropping off the target. My float is solid at anchor but quickly deteriorates and drops off. Time to adjust balance. My shooting partner thinks I should run slightly longer front bar..currently a 10 and 8 on the back. Time to tinker. Love your boot camp videos, Levi. Great work!

I have a 2020 model bear paradox. 32inches axle to axle. Ibo is 330 fps. I put a Qad drop away. Trophy ridge REACT h 5 sight. My stabilizers are Trophy ridge hitman 6 inch in the front and a Apex side mount to another Trophy ridge hitman rear stabilizer 6 inch. Works great. 1to1 is a great set up. Great video.

For me and the new Hoyt pro 30, I am not sure if I will put a stabilizer on. Maybe one on the side. I can already Robin Hood at 30-40 yards without the added weight. For hunting from the ground and tree stands and shots at hunting distance normally less than 40 yards, I think you can do well without the added weight. Just the added chance of a snag or noise in some conditions. That being said, I will be checking out one to possibly off set the quiver.

So what your saying is the average deer hunter where I live in the dense woods of the adirondack mtns in ny I need 2 bows...one small light bow for walking throw the thickets to my stand everyday amd anotherone setup with long front and back bars for 3d shoots or incase I ever get to hunt out west where I can shoot longer shots and need that extra stability

Stabilizers add weight to the bow and if someone has bow arm shoulder issues that extra weight adds stress to the shoulder. What do recommend in this scenario? Back bar only?

If I adjust my back bar as far as it will go towards the string and my bubble is still not level, is it logically okay to move my back bar to the other side to get the bow to level?? Does that suggest a grip issue? Or will this work just fine to flip sides to achieve level? Thanks advance. Great videos. Much respect.

I used to shoot with no stabilizer and my balance was off. I did not understand why the bow moved so much in my hand at full draw. After buying a few stabilizers, I found one that works for me. It is short (six inches) but, it provides me with better groupings on target.

I'm fairly new to the archery world so, hopefully somebody here will be able to help me with the following question: How do professional archers compensate for a heavy back bar (usually on the left )of their bows? I think that bar ( and its weights ) is heavier than the sight they use. Most of them shoot a front and back stabilizer only (e.g NOT a V-mount)

Levi, I don’t know if you answer questions, but if you get your bow stable, will it still automatically stabilize at full draw if you’re on hilly terrain? So, if I’m turkey hunting on my knees and one knee is downhill/uphill slightly from the other because of terrain, will the bow level itself at full draw?

This will probably never get answered since this is a 3 year old video. But does any of that matter when you are up on a tree aiming down. You set this bow all up and perfect balance with weight on one side and front or back. But you do that in the standing on flat ground aiming straight forward. It doesn’t make sense to me that 15+ feet up on a tree aiming down the weight will “balance” the same as they did on the ground.

With respect to the man... These professional archer videos are all the same now a days. Talking you into something else you just don't need. Perfectly tuned and calibrated hunting bow, the best gear, perfect form and perfect release. When he releases that arrow he knows exactly where its gonna land. But the one thing his bow can't do is predict the movement of that whitetail at 50-60 yards. Blink of a eye and that perfect shot now land in a deers guts or throat. So if taking a deers life is so serious why not spend as much time on proper stand placement as dialing in your equiptment? Ive never shot a deer outside 20 yards. Never needed to. I have a 60 yard pin but it stays at the range. More professionals need to preach whats really important and ethical when killing.
