John, I just wanted to say thank you for all the work you put into these videos. The amount of knowledge you share and detail you go into is second to none on KZbin. As a beginner archer in an area that isn't big on archery, I take comfort in the fact that if I need to know something I can just look up your channels and find what I need. Keep up the awsome work.

I used to be afraid of doing this, but it's not as harsh on the strings as it seems. The piece of leather made it easy. Thanks John. Happy Summer 2022

You're a genius my friend. I'm going to share that with the other archers because I haven’t seen anyone do that before. I'm using a club bow as I just started archery and wondered how many people have kissed the string! Would you say that is a good way to disinfect it too? What would you recommend if you don't mind my asking?

They have a lot of stuff on the market for strings, I’ve always wondered about the “cleaners” like for instance the Easton 3 step bowstring maintenance kit. Is something like that even needed or necessary?

thanks alot for this tip. i am beginner. how often do i need wax the string? is that something you do regular every week? or how do we handle it. i find no information and the bow shops here know nothing about bows

it tears your string up use scorpion venom string cleaner. By far safer and better for your string. I tried this method a couple times absolutely terrible idea to use on your string !!

I was thinking the same thing.. Dragging the floss over the gritty wax might abrade the string fibers much more ?

Hi Brian - This is a standard method that custom string makers around the world have been using for years when they lay up their strings and strip the wax before serving. It is a proven method that has been used for a very long time by the best bow string makers. When done properly, as shown in the video, no damage is created to the string fibers and you are able to get them thoroughly clean. Also, we have partnered with the chemists of Scorpion Venom in creating our new string lube, so you can rest assured it is the best of the best. Ultimately, you have to choose the method that you believe in most. For me, I totally trust this process. Keep up the good work!
