Bow thruster check-up and upcoming projects!

Your video gave me the courage to take on the project of installing a new Vetus Pro bow thruster to my new project on a 1995 Nordhavn that really needed the upgrade. I've been stuck in a boatyard in Virginia for almost a year now waiting on them to "get around" to installing the tube for me. After watching your process I dove right in and got it done! It turned out really nice. I have had fiberglass experience and this is my 7th yacth renovation but the first time I actually installed the tube myself. No more waiting and boat yards thanks to you!

Hey, I own a B34 (2013), too. I mixed 2 AGM and one nomal for the engine (Blei Säure) and the system is working fine

I think you were right the first time!!! It should be wired ... Battery - Switch - Fuse - Thruster...... That way you can change the fuse when it's "cold" ie there is no power on. Much safer and less chance of the fuse blowing while you are holding it in your fingers!!!. My Lewmar installation guide shows it this way as well.

@@jacobkollerup Thank you Q1: When mixing the chop strand, how much epoxy did you mix and did you use an additional thickener Silica? Q2 How long after filling round the tunnel did you apply your 1st layer of glass Q3: When applying the peel ply did you wet out the area with extra epoxy or did you apply on top when it started taking and roll it Q4 How long did you leave between each layer? Finally Q5 What gel coat did you use to cover and how was it applied. Thank you 💪👍

Did you have enough power with SE 40 bow truster in strong winds?

I believe so. This summer we did some docking in 10-12m/s winds straight on the beam with no issues. 40 kg thrust might not seem like much, but the small diameter tunnel combined with a hull shape that makes it possible to mount the thruster extremely far forward, makes it very efficient
