I have four degrees and have taught doctors at the graduate level. It takes on average 6-7 years to get a real doctorate and it's a hellish endeavor of perseverance for most. Honorary degrees mean next to nothing and it is insulting that they exist at all. It would be one thing if they gave you an undergrad degree. It's the doctorate that is insulting. The fact that CTG does not understand the education system or doctorates highlights why he should not have been given a doctorate. The criteria is usually just fame, not impact, and not success. The schools use this for fundraising, marketing, and visibility. Jess is right. It should be an honor or award. Also, Envy most doctors I know took a minimum of 6 years.

As 7-8 year old, Bow Wow was the best thing since sliced bread or Pokémon cards LOL I love what he did for us during that time and his longevity was great. I think if it’s a honorary degree it should count because you have reached a level that requires recognition. Yes their are people that study for a long time to achieve that but even they don’t accomplish what some of these other people who get honoraries accomplish even if they’re in the same field now I do think when there’s a celebrity with a controversy and it’s undeniable and they have hard evidence then your title should be revoked because it was given to you so it can be taken away but that should be depending on what it is that you did because cancel culture is ridiculous sometimes but if you actually worked and studied for it I think it shouldn’t matter how bad the situation is the controversy doesn’t negate the actual work you did for that title specifically so that should never be taken away from you.

Envy, don’t argue with people who have not gone to college about degrees. Charlamagne has no idea what it takes to even earn a Bachelor degree, let alone a Doctorate degree. It literally takes 8+ years of challenging academic work (Bachelor 4, Master’s 2, Doctorate 2+). No matter what you accomplished in the field, you didn’t earn a Doctorate unless you went to that school for 8+ years, took all the classes, tests, wrote and defended your thesis. Schools need to stop clout chasing by giving out fake Doctorate degrees. It diminishes the value of the school and the degree.
