Great musicians and a dynamic energetic singer, Leigh on bass the late great Matthew on guitar and Dave 'Burundi' Barbarossa on drums and topping it all the firecracker Anabella, they show anything up in today's boring chart's. 'Aphrodisiac' is shit hot.

Saw this band in 1982 at Irvine Meadows and fell in love. Just pure fun and excitement. Miss the eighties. This song epitomizes the energy and great mood of the times.

Astounding how good they got once they ditched McClaren and started writing together. Going Gets Tough is one BOSS record.

I get the impression that Malcolm was a catalyst/disrupter/sine qua non, and that a different kind of manager would be needed once a band was established. Of his two most famous bands, Bow Wow Wow and the Pistols (Matlock lineup), all members were great musicians.

I''ve met Annabella a few times and she is so so nice and truly a genuine person in-person. I agree ditching McClaren was probly a good idea. Every song on WTGGTTTGG is a gem & great track. 80s were the best. And the 60s & 70s! That whole time period was the best. Cheers...

Lucky enough to see them cause my mates supported them. Dave is a phenomenal drummer, Matthew (God rest his soul) was brilliant and so was Lee on bass. They were even better before leaving Adam Ant (Stuart).

This was such a great band such a shame they had a short career but there music still rocks now 2017. There is a completely new line up now. The only original member is the bass player an there still calling themselves bow wow wow. That is cheating the true fans. Thats like blondie without Debbie Harry or the GoGo's without Belinda Carlisle. It does not work an it sucks without Annabelle.

yeah, but now Annabella is on the "Lost 80's Tour calling herself Bow Wow Wow as well, which seems fair game, BUT she's doing a lot of this with just her & backing tapes of the bands music. THAT is a total rip-off. Especially considering she doesn't have many or any songwriting credits. Leigh Gorman wrote most if not all the songs.
@X1xone
@X1xone 5 жыл бұрын
@@dabiga61 Annabelle had no song writing credits up until the "When going gets tough" album. On that album she is was co-writer on all the songs. So she co-wrote all of the songs played in this video.

Annabella is beautiful and brilliant here. I can't believe the band stabbed her in the back and fired her in 1983. Annabella only found out about it by reading it in the NME! The rest of the band didn't have the guts to tell her to her face. Leigh "the git"Gorman did it again. Annabell and Gorman reformed the band in 1997 only for him to ditch Annabella for a second time and perform under the name "Bow Wow Wow" without Annabella's knowledge, consent or permission, with a new lineup. What a bastard.
@etierik

Stupidest thing they could have ever done. Without Annabella, they were nothing at all. Zero succes. Unfortunately Annabella didn't manage to be succesful without the band either, so the success and the musical genius were short lived.

yes it's bizarre, how could they not realize that SHE IS BWW? They may be great musicians but the public only ever saw her. Itd be like Nirvana kicking out KC because they thought theyd be better without him.

It was what is known as a Thin Switch Falcon. Gretsch White Falcon '79, '80 or '81. The only years they used the thin switches and the open Bigsby. Most believe it was a 1980. The pick-up switches were the thin switch and the Bigsby was different from any Falcon before these years. Look at Duffy's and you'll see the difference as Duffy's Sanctuary Falcon was a '76 I believe. Ashman was so underrated. So different. I own a '77 NM Falcon and now my holy grail... a '79 Ashman Falcon. Took me over 25 years to find it. Over paid for it and worth every cent. RIP Roustabout.
