I think they call it Black Friday because it is traditionally the first day of the year that the merchants' financial columns move from the "red" into the "black."

Only thing is it should have measurements on the Bowdabra. So you can measure each loop on each side.

The reason it is called black Friday, is an expression used by bookkeepers. A very long time ago they used black pencils to notate being ok with the books & red pencil was used to denote being in debt. By the end of the year you should be in the black. If you were in the red you were in trouble.

Black Friday is referring to an Accounting term. When the company’s books are in the “black” it means the company is making a profit after expenses and wages, “red” means the company isn’t making a profit
