Hey there! Cool video. Little tip on exposure though: If you lock the aperture somewhere in the middle and set the ISO or gain to automatic, you won't get that stepped effect when your camera compensates for brightness.

What is the difference between the bass units found on the 683 s2s and CM9/CM10 s2s? 683 S2 bass unit is made out of aluminum cone and CM series 2 bass units are made out of paper/kevler enforced cone. Which is more durable & reliable between the two?

Marcel Pekel in your video you can see at 1:36 the bowers and Wilkins midrange with kevlar membrane and with the face plug in black

Nice video, but the coils are Henry. You don´t measure Farad on coils, that´s for capacitors.

The only thing what happens also with audyssey is that it will not only correct certain room gain and phase. But it will also effect the frequency spectrum. So for testing.. Pure audio needs to be selected. As far as I know they use "mundorf supreme capacitors in the high end series, could be wrong here.. Anyway, nice movie keep up the good work I like it.

Audyssey indeed dous adapt the frequentie response, but that is just wat you want when you use a roomcorrection device, I did select these speakers because they sounded right to me. But don't forget that the listening rooms in shops are not the same as your room at home, and if you want to have a good sound in your house you are restricted in using accoustical adaptations. Before I used Audyssey I only shifted with the speakers, a bit more from the wall or to the left, a bit more turned inside or outside. This makes the sound mutch better but it can't eliminate the roomgain in the low end. When I got these speakers new, I first shifted the speakers to the best possible location, then I did my modefications, and after some weeks listening in this way I started to use Audyssey. This way Audyssey dous not have to work to hard, it only dous wat itneeds to do. I never heard my music so realistic before, not even at the most butiful audioshops.

+Marcel Pekel you are completely right, that is the main reason why you cannot buy some speakers and get the same results. For that reason we measure, adapt the passive crossover according to the room so the sound satisfies you, then use room correction for the right phase indeed. But bowers en Wilkins sound good to me, sometimes a tad to bright using the wrong cables and amp.

Marcel, after you pop off the metal trim around the midrange driver, how do I remove the midrange driver completely? I assume that after the trim is removed there are screws? And after the screws are removed, will I have access to the tweeter? My tweeter is broken and I need to replace it.
@chandybe3 жыл бұрын
I have the CM10 S2..to replace the tweeter which is on top of the cabinet, u have to first remove the midrange driver..thats why I'm asking..

Thank You for showing inside of cm series.Expecting more videos and great reviews. How is the sound quality .Does it have good high and low frequency. Planning to buy same. Your suggestion please.

Nice Video! But sadly you do not show how to remove the trims. I am wondering, if it is posible to replace the trims of a CM9 S1 with the new ones of the S2 in order to hide the screws. Does anybody know if this works?

It'll be good to get a Klippel test of the drivers. However, from over 30 years of designing and building speakers, I never trust the quality of crossover design/components. It's where 99.9% of brands cheap out, or simply don't bother with. And get some _Angel Hair_ in there!

Never say never! I can't afford brand new B&W speakers myself. But do you know what I did? I bought a pair of B&W DM 580 speakers and a center channel, second hand for 350 Euro's for the three speakers. B&W speakers have a long lifetime! So buying them second handed is no shame in terms of quality! :-)

yes, but we don't have any other option in our house. The Audyssey room correction solves this very nice.
