As an owner of the B&W DM 1 - 3 and the 5 series, I naturally prefer the warm sounds of this English origin. It also has to do with what your audio set up is, for example: amplifier from that period, tubes or sold state, etc. But I can understand that there is also a serious audience for the JBL, whether you are an audiophile or not.... In summary : create your most beautiful audio setup and let your hearing determine (and create an acceptable balance between aesthetics and sound quality). Bower & Wilkins gives me the warm sound I am looking for, on the other hand I can certainly imagine the enthusiasm for the clean JBL sound. For the record: I love Vinyl !

Yes. It is a fact every one is well aware of. But it gives a grasp of how theyd perform.

@@vietquoc007 true. the JBL's seem to be brighter whereas the DM3 more muffled. Has the crossover been updated? Also to note that there is a 10 - 15 years difference between the two. Their sound signature appeal the times they were built in so it's pretty much like comparing apples to pears.

@@florinmoldovanu yea. Ur absolutely right. The jbl is a lot brighter and energetic, the b&w is soother and warmer. This case i think it represented the two english sounds and US sounds very well
