Between the model of the 802D2 series and the 802D3 series, the price of a pair of loudspeakers has been increased by almost 60%, from 14,000€ for an 802d2 to 22,000€ for the 802D3!!!! BW may have said that there were several hundred improvements between the two models, but I see only the desire of a company to better remunerate these shareholders with a super luxury product, especially as we can see on this video, it is only the top and very high end that is still made in England and a good part of the work is done by CNC machine, robotics... The rest of the range is relocated to countries with low labour costs! In conclusion, the real luxury is made in England, with a lot of manpower and not necessarily with a price that borders on indecency!!!! It seems obvious that the more famous Hi-Fi brands are, the more they take their customers for safes and nothing else. Fortunately, there are many other creators and manufacturers of loudspeakers on our planet who offer products that are certainly less aesthetically pleasing, but much more musical and more affordable.

Visually their speakers look great but the actual performance isn't that impressive. And of course the reason for the higher price is largely to enrich their shareholders. I will see what i can do myself offering something way better for a lower price (looking to register the LLC this year or the next).

That's funny. When the worker disassembles the tweeter, there appears to be a small compartment directly in back of the diaphragm and then a disk of some sort. Now the idea of the "teardrop" shape of the tweeter assembly is to "soak up" the back wave (produced by the diaphragm) so it can't bounce back and corrupt the "new", frontal wave and cause distortion. I guess this isn't the case anymore. I wonder if the midrange teardrop head is just for show as well?

The bass heavy music that I mostly listen to I think I would be wasting these speakers on my application. If I cut them off around 80 Hz it might be worth it. I wonder what brand of amplifiers they recommend?

Did you asked them what happened to the majority of employees in England when they shifted most of their production in China over 10 years ago ?!? Hmmmm ???? I guess they sacked them out on the streets of course , just kept few for R&D department and production of the small number of units still produced in England. They have been increasing the prices progressively on all the ranges since then and sure they don't pay em much, those poor abused workers in China ! As with everything in the world which is going down in the gutter !!! And,who is benefiting, just the very few on the top ! So lets consider all of the above facts for starters, about everything in todays life. Loudspeakers, well... aint that massively important in the big picture ! Just to stay on the topic ...I started with B&W over 20 years ago with DM302 ,than 601 S2 ,than 602 S3, than 703 ! and even the basic offering was made in England and than all the sudden in a sneaky way "Made in China !!!" .Mother Truckin pile of BS !!! Unlike brands, as the German engineered and designed -Vincent for example, that from the very beginning was made in China and they were open and cool about it ! Would I buy B&W speakers nowadays ,well NOT this new 800, thats for sure !!! Looks soo unappealing to me,its ridiculous and bordering on ugly. No matter of the sound quality even if I get it for free, the damn thing will annoy me to hell and back and I wont be able to stand it in my listening room. Thats why I choose German made Audio Physic ( massive sound quality and value for the money as well). Oh, their sister higher end electronics company Classe ,also looks to rounded and flimsy as ... jeeez Im speechless kinda way. I've experienced in store their top separates, the volume knob on the pre amp, buttons, those displays and things as such utterly ridiculous for MY taste. But if someone thinks that B&W or Classe shall float their boat, oh well ,ofcourse go get it NOW , and I'll be honestly happy for you if you enjoy it ! No I don't base my hifi choices on looks only,or let alone just German gear( also Im not German), but its a matter of a entirely personal experience throughout ! B&W pissed me off long time ago, and they aren't gettin my bussines ,NO WAY JOSE !!!

+Mi Camara That might be the case if you so please, do perceive it as such, it is your choice. Maybe a realistic, tactile and truthful understanding with emotions is the actual intended delivery . None of the above is a lie and the product comments are just MY own personal view point, nothing more nothing else! So, should I assume that you are a pacified wuss ? No, I'll go with the fact that you said what came on your mind. Enjoy to whatever you are listening and on whatever you are listening it on. If you get a pair of any of the new 800 line models and you enjoy em, well bro, honestly two thumbs up from me ! Be cool.

i personally fid the D3's series of the 800 line all to look a bit tacky and 'lifestyle'. I own the previous incarnation of the 802's and i think that the wooden veneers and round back cabinet is much more attractive..This current series is too 'bling'. I also don't like to protruding front cones or curved front edge of the cabinet..I didn't like them when i first saw them in the flesh and they've never grown on me...They sound wonderful of course, but I've also heard the older Nautilus 800 speaker and it possesses everything that the current 800 does.

Nonsense. Nobody can afford a yacht, everybody can afford a set of speakers. Since when is it prohibited to ask the price of something you like? There are speakers that cost tens of thousands, and these don't look like they belong in that class... don't get too excited.

@jevgenijobzigailov23766 жыл бұрын
