If you buy it brand new with warranty, that might be a better way to go. I go both my PX7s2 and PX8 replaced under warranty.

I have the same issue with my PX7S2. Your video, along with B & W's less than stellar customer service, will keep me from upgrading to the PX8.

B&W service in Poland wrote to me that several complaints of this type have been reported regarding the Px7 S2. I suspect that the same thing may be happening in the new version of Px7 called "S2e". Please let me know if you test them.

I had the PX7S2 for a short time. I loved the sound and the initial perceived build quality. The materials were stellar. But i saw your initial video where you mentioned the durability issue on your blue PX7 and it made sense to me. I always felt the arc of the head band was too narrow. It’s more of a “V” shape versus a “U” shape. It seemed like I was putting too much pulling force on the band just to properly put the headphones on. From the looks of your two examples, the leather on the bottom failed right at the high stress point. Poor design on their part. It’s sad you’ve invested so much money into a subpar product. I hope you’re able to recoup. This doesn’t seem right.

Are px7 actually leather? If so thats got to be a lot of stress and too sharp of an edge I'm guessing.

It does not happen with all of the units. If you are lucky, it won’t happen to you. What I will say is that you buy with guarantee. That way, if it happens, you send it back for replacement.

It’s not unique to B&W. Go on any subreddit and find complaints of build quality issues amongst the current ANC headphones offerings.

Funny enough, my PX7 S2 did not have any issues with the head band but the glue under the earpad came off and I had to get the pair replaced.

There's something people probably don't know about these headphones by Bowers & Wilkins, is that they don't actually make them. Only the drivers are made by them. They're contracted & produced by another company belonging to Sound United, now owned by Masimo. Another dodgy monopoly producing junk out of China. It's actually known as DEI Holdings Inc, & they own a plethora of established names in high-end audio. You can actually go on the way back machine. Nearly every single PX series headphone has had major defects all the way back to 2017. The company as a whole has become a pile of crap because of who owns them & tells them want to do. I don't know anyone who buys their loudspeakers anymore

Oh yeah, maybe you watched a lot of reviews and the hype heightened your expectations before you got your hands on one? 🙂 But you are right, for the price, I think it’s really that exceptional. But it’s good especially if you are already endeared to the PX Sound Signature.

That is so terrible to hear. I also have returned my Px8 for exactly the same problem (headband in the middle)... It looks like a production issue if you even have it with two headphones and so many people have identical experiences.

The second i saw that the s2e cant really have its earcups and headband changed (easily) i got the ✨4 year extended warranty ✨ you dont buy expensive stuff without insurance lol

I feel you on that! Also, while the customser service of BW is slow, you can always get them to give you a brand new replacement if anything goes wrong. I have been using the BW headphones for 10 years now, and have been playing that cat and mouse game with them :)

That’s a huge quality control problem. And as expensive as they are, the headband erodes like a cheap pair of regular headphones. That’s ridiculous.

My PX 7S2 came apart across the head band and on both ear cups. 100% adhesive failure

Two months of usage and happened to me as well. I love them but this is not acceptable for the price... waiting for the response from the shop as they couldn't get to the dealer of B&W in Ireland

That really sucks especially when they are not able to get hold of the dealers let alone the companies. BW customer care and after-sales service sucks! I will mention that in the next review!

@@CarefulOptimist just to let you know, after 3 weeks plus I got a new pair of B&W px8 and if thats the case I am happy with it. If they keep exchanging to the new one’s let it be. I like the style and the sound so I have to live with it even though I might replace them again in the future

I have the px7 s2 and I have the px7 and have never had that issue and I pull on them constantly because of my large noggin. So this is totally a lie, this dude must work for a rival company. Pure Bullshit.
