READ BEFORE COMMENTING: This not from the UK or Asia where common carp are a desired species. This is in Big Bear Lake, CA USA. Common carpnare an EXTREMELY invasive species and are detrimental to this habitat. They eat/consume millions of eggs frome the desired species the lake wants to grow populations of. The city of Big Bear Lake encourages anglers (bowfishing and hook/line) to remove as many common carp from the lake as possible. If you decide to post negative comments with name calling or such, I will delete the comment and block you from the channel immediately. If you know the situation with carp here in the US, you would know that what I am doing is desired and encouraged. If you want to learn, just ask. Opinions against bowfishing carp is fine, but I will not reply to them. Thanks for watching! Yeeewwww!

Great day on the lake for you. Looking at getting into bowfishing since im only an hour away from Big Bear and I have a question for you. What do you do with all the carp at the end of the day? Are there fish dumpsters at the marinas or somewhere?

You take the dead carp to the Big Bear Water District on the NW corner of Lakeview Drive/Paine Court. Drive around to the NW end, where the boat launch is, and against the building is either a HUGE yellow can or a black rolling dumpster to dispose of them.

When are you gonna be out there again?

I really don't know. It could be in 2 weeks. 3 weeks. 1 month or done up there for the year. Once the spawn really gets going, it's really hard to get fish there due to the water being so murky. There could be 1,000s of fish right under your feet, but you never see them. During the latter part of the spawn, it's best to go to a little deeper, and clearer, water to shoot the free-swimming fish. When I go up after main spawn, I generally get them on the north side of the lake, west of Stanfield Cutoff. Anywhere you can get away from the wind and clear water. I'll go to other lakes in the meantime.

I'm in Coachella. Any lakes you can recommend for beginners? Please?

Your best bet is probably finding a spot along the California Aqueduct. Other than that, Big Bear, or, in SD county - El Cpitan, Hodges, Lower Otay, San Vicente and Sutherland.
