Thank u for your words. What u r doing is very environmentally and sustainable? These creatures are in a pristine environment right up until they pass. No cruelty here such as how cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens are treated. You are preserving Australia for our native animals. Well do! That is real active environmentalism better than sitting on social media pontificating about how we should be environmental and sustainable.
@AaronWhitaker013 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It is very sustainable and also good for the Australian Bush. That’s how I look at it too, the animals are in the wild up until they die. Plus we practice a lot to make sure our shooting is good so the animals don’t endure suffering, they pass within seconds!

@@AaronWhitaker01 I saw that someone made a bronze helmet with actual stag antlers mount on it. That would set you apart from just regular boring old American taxidermy deer mount. But would settle to see some deer meat being grilled over open fire pit, if open fire pit is legal in Australia

Thankyou Ernie! That’s why I practice a lot, I try to make sure the animals don’t suffer They usually die within 10 seconds when you place the perfect shot and it’s over before they realise anything has happened. Appreciate the comment

Excellent. Thanks. I still feel on the edge about becoming a hunter because of the culture and shenanigans over here in France - sort of stuck in between outraged hypocrites and... yes, a fair few hunters earning their reputation, frankly. But I think mostly that neither side really tries to understand the other and things just get worse. Anyhow, you got me pumped to go my own way now. Making me miss OZ big time, too! Spent almost two years there and I sure wasn't the same when I came back. I miss the spirit and heck, the space! Can I ask whereabout you're based?
@AaronWhitaker012 жыл бұрын
I can Deffinately understand the way you feel, people from both sides tend to refuse to understand eachother! You might just have to come back here one day, great lifestyle! I’m based in a town called Whyalla in South Australia, right on the coast with great fishing and not far from good hunting areas too! Thanks for watching!
@eddyc46032 жыл бұрын
@@AaronWhitaker01 Awesome, thanks for replying. I think the closest I got to Whyalla would have been on the bus from Alice Springs to Adelaide, going through Port Augusta.. You can hardly make anyone understand these kinds of distances over here! January 2009 I think, I was 20 and feeling like an absolute king, haha. No need to rule anyone else, I at least felt I was controlling and invested in my own life. I am just mentioning this because - well, it's fun to remember but mostly, I haven't had any real sense of connection since then, especially with that part of the country. I thought what I was becoming then was who I would just be, and then back to the old continent after messing around for another couple of years or so, and all of a sudden you're left with a gaping hole and wondering if it ever happened at all. People at home didn't change... I must have had fifteen different jobs since then, no kidding. I can't get the fix and I am not sure Australia would have me now, either (not exactly a stellar resume by this point). Anyhow. Funny how I sometimes see this kind of rambling posts on KZbin and wonder what makes people tell their entire lives like that... I am getting it now, I suppose. More of it and back to hunting, I may transfer to the Alps soon and a friend there has tried to talk me into hunting "mouflon" and "chamois" (no way I could translate that, sorry) waaay up in the mountains were few people even go. I sure could see you getting into that, too and heck, the walk and climb in itself and retrieving the prey wherever it has fallen into and back, sure means you've earned your dinner if you get the one. Now I am thinking it can even be done with a bow!! Thanks for that, thanks a lot. Whether I go back to Oz or not, I sort of have potential for that feeling in a different way now, and it is sufficiently unreachable at first look and off the hook in a way that I would work towards it seriously, if that makes any sense... Haven't had this feeling for a long while. Godspeed, I'll be watching a lot of your videos.

Awesome that’s close! There’s so much space and can take days to get to places! I’m actually doing a 1800km drive today/ tomorow and I won’t even be leaving the state haha It’s got to reminisce and relive old memories! If you do ever make your way back here I might be able to show you some new places They would be a couple of Amazing hints to do, I know the animals you are talking about, I plan to hunt chamois in New Zealand when I can get back over there! I love that mountain/ alp hunting, I successfully hunted the Himalayan Tahr in NZ a few years ago and can’t wait to go again Always a great sense of achievement when you finally get the animal you’ve been chasing! Take care, feel free to keep in touch I’m always happy to chat! Really appreciate the comments

On a broadside shot, do you aim to shoot into the shoulder area(above the front leg) or behind the shoulder?
@AaronWhitaker012 жыл бұрын
Broadside shot,I’ll aim for the crease just behind the leg or even in line with the leg since the bones are actually a little forward Aim forward if they have just had a drink
@nolixss6942 жыл бұрын
@@AaronWhitaker01 in line with the mid leg or rear of the leg? And why do you aim forward if theyve had a drink?
@AaronWhitaker012 жыл бұрын
In line with the front leg, that’s where you’ll want to aim so you will hit heart/lungs. Because they can drink so much water it pushes their vitals forwards slightly
@nolixss6942 жыл бұрын
@@AaronWhitaker01 in line with what part of the front leg? Front line, middle or rear line?
@AaronWhitaker012 жыл бұрын
If you follow its front leg up, aim in line with the middle of its leg, if you hit centre height of its body you’ll have a double lung shot, a bit lower and it’ll be heart. Type goat shot placement into Google and it should show you where the vital area and bones are located

Country looks just eastern New Mexico/west Texas. Red ass diet and poor vegetation. Of course, there's no wild goats. Cool hunt and great shot on the first one. Man, that's cool just walking along spot & stalking. Has to be a royal blast.
