This happens to everyone. My Dad was born in 1933 and his music was the big bands and swing of the 40s and 50s. He passed away in 2020 and that was still “his music.” Of course he listened to music of later eras, but everyone is always nostalgic and has a preference for the music of their youth, when life was still carefree.

I first heard this song when it was released, once what was then contemporary music made its way into my life. Debby’s house was a good friend of mine’s growing up. We got to watch them film the music video. Those toys on the lawn are my friend’s actual toys in the garage they used, I used to play with those 😂 and the flowers on the house and the trees are fake, they’re props they stuck up there. My mom had a conversation with Debby’s actor. I got their autographs.
