Slade managed to come to terms with what happened and knew in the end it wasn't his fault that Shado was killed, all that time in the cell gave him time to process, grieve and accept it all. Deep down Slade is a good guy, it was the mirakuru that fuck him up for all that time, it literally took years to leave a persons system, after the withdrawal Slade managed to revert back to his original self.

He did. He had sons. He loved. And he lost at least as much as Oliver has. In fact, it's likely that Slade and Oliver are the only people who can truly understand the other. Not that others can't reach, or better love, or heal or even help or reach them, or that O and S went thru exactly the same thing. But some kinds of hell leave particularly distinctive scars, and I think there were a *lot* of personality traits each mirrored long before they ever met.

Slade was also cured from the Mirakuru back at the end of S2 finale when Felicity gave it to him. And he had time to think about the things he's done (Slade returned in S3 ep 14 when Oliver brings Thea to train her, Malcolm helps Slade escape and the both of them fight Slade. At that moment, Slade's Mirakuru was still being drained out so not entirely.)

@@MegaMerlin5 only problem with that is if they killed off the entire cast there wouldn't be a show. but i agree with you guys and you're right they probably should have killed felicity i saw enough of this relationship crap and relationship drama on smallville they shouldn't have done it on arrow. at the very least the drama and relationship drama with felicity should have been toned down a lot and kept to a minimum. so if the writers had killed off felicity here i wouldn't have hated them or been mad or pissed off about it. relationship drama should be kept out of superhero tv shows period or at least toned down and kept to a minimum.

@@coreynance3874 i’m surprised you would say this even after the show has ended. killing felicity would only cause more drama. she hasn’t been a problem since season 4 yet people still find reasons to hate on her. if she died that would more than likely make oliver spiral. then the show would be even more drama. but i do think the stakes should have been higher. i wish rene or quentin had gotten hurt, too.

they developed oliver in a brilliant way in s2. s5 is like a weird rehashing of this idea of Oliver as a killer except for 1000x worse because it's not even remotely accurate to how he behaved in s1 and s2. Yeah he killed people, but he also tried to help people, even the guys on his list he gave them chances to do the right thing. You know back in the pilot, hell the first 3 episodes, he didn't kill one dude on his list. He stole money from one, he got a confession out of another, and deadshot killed the third. He didn't just go around killing people, that's absolutely never been the case. Which is why Adrian's just a lying piece of shit and Oliver's sense of self is so warped that he immediately went along with his bullshit. "oh u so right, im just a murderer who likes to kill everyone". bitch no you ain't.

If Adrian killed himself while Oliver and his team were on the island, he most likely would've killed Oliver everyone including his son. 1. The boat was still on the coast of the island so it probably would have hit it and the boat would have exploded. 2. If the boat did not get hit by the explosions, William does not know how to use it, and will probably starve to death unless he gets rescued which is a small chance. That would have been such a sad end to end the show.

@Itatchi Uchiha yeah adrian was calling oliver a killer in season five so oliver had to stop him without killing him because if he had killed adrian he would have only proven adrian right and adrain would have won so he had to beat him without killing him it's the same reason he didn't kill slade at the end of season two because if he did slade would have won besides in the slade situation another reason oliver didn't kill him is because there was another way he was able to stop him without killing him when he injected him with the serum/mirakuru cure when the mirakuru gave him super strength.
