I was looking forward to Sue Perkins and Jack Whitehall because I knew I really like them. I was surprised by Nick Newer, who I didn't know. Very funny! This is a great episode!

"obstinate kid" in French: "efant obstiné" or "gosse obstiné" - which phrasing works best? (I don't have enough experience with French to know the difference.)

There's a picture of David Cameron behind Sue's head in this episode. In it, he looks exactly like a young Bill Clinton. It's uncanny. (Is it David Cameron?)

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

In the intro, Russia turning off the gas to Europe is a bit rich. US and UK blew up Nord stream and now the US is providing the oil at 4x the price. Make a joke about that.
@myoldvhstapes Жыл бұрын
I agree. However, this episode is from 2011. So the animation for the intro sequence had something to do with politics back then.

@@myoldvhstapes I'd still like to see a joke about it.
