I usually used a P20 or a P1000, rarely anything in between. For the really small volumes I'd use a Hamilton syringe with tubing, a moving airspace, and a needle. Now when it came to multichannel pipettes for slot-blotting, that was a different matter.

Peter Capaldi is a great actor. The mistake was on the part of HIGNFY producers. They invited him because they thought he was politically savvy. He thought HIGNFY would do more of a mixture of news. Have any of you noticed that after Peter's appearance, HIGNFY stopped making assumptions about their guests' political knowledge? Still adore Peter. ;-)

Well, you have to understand that the scripts on "the thick of it" were written and rewritten by a team of brilliant writers. Peter is funny and witty, but he's not a professional comic writer or satirist who can come up with funny one liners and responses on the hoof. It's always a delight to see him, and he did look like he was having a good time just listening and laughing at what the others had to say
