Honestly, I'd approach this sort of concept by merging Robotnik's Revenge with Mario Is Missing: *Bowser's Inside Story:* VB7FD (VB = Valley of Bowser, 7-FD is the level code for the Front Door version of Bowser's Castle in SMW) Soul Peach Soul Kamek Soul Mario & Soul Luigi Yoshi would be the protagonist of the Pinch Mode/Lost Levels equivalent.
