I taught myself to braid overhand and it came naturally 😌

New Subbie, thank you so much for posting this video. For some reason I can only braid my hair over handed, no matter how hard I try. So your video helped me understand why my knots are always under my braid. ♥️

I like the overhand method. It looks easier and neater. I like the knot underneath. Do you think that it is really noticeable that they are elevated? Also would immediately tying them down and getting under the dryer help? If not, could you suggest anything that would help -besides not doing them 😂

Can you do an overhand method for knotless please?

@Nette I did show the knotless overhand and underhand method. For box braids with the knot, I haven't quite accomplished them. I found that if you do them overhand, all the braids will stick out at an angle because the knot will make each braid slightly elevated. I did try. The braids are neat but they don't lay down flat due to the knot being underneath the braid using the overhand method. Let me know if you'd like me to show any other hairstyles. Thanks for watching!

Both of the techniques are underhand… 😕

What makes you say that? Looking at the braids you can see a difference in the pattern. The overhand (right) braids fold into the middle. The underhanded braids (left) pattern goes away from the middle. Even the grip at the root is different... no?
