I remember this, I was 9 years old watching. Mike was going through the fire at this time.

Seen this before, way back when. Great doc, with great footage from the early years of Tyson's amateur career.

Mike is a 1 n only legend of this cruel world

I bought this on VHS. It was a bi-product of the Desiree Washington thing. Some of the idiots Tyson aligned himself to after he left his team in Catskill, really were disgusting people. Around the time of this documentary coming out, I read the book by Jose Torres, FIRE & FEAR. Torres was a friend of Cus D'Amato's, and one of his former fighter's. In the book he tells how D'Amato would tell Tyson repeatedly, to never let Don King into his circle. Yet, he did exactly that. From that point onward, Tyson no longer developed and reached his peak as a fighter. He also became a rat of a person under King's influence.

There was powers in places that removed Mike from the sport. I remember he couldn’t even get a license to fight at times

Breaks my heart for Mike. Hundreds of millions made 200 women at least per day throwing their panties, giving him their numbers. Poor guy. Exploiting him. Cruel cruel world. Now I’m not saying everything is untrue but I guarantee 90 percent was untrue. His mind was messed up psychologically

@@BoxingOutsidetheRopes February 12, 1993, according to IMDB. I didn't see the broadcast, but I had the vhs release, along with Mike Tyson:The Inside Story from 1995. The first two docs I ever saw about Mike Tyson, and still the best imo. If I wanted to introduce someone to Iron Mike, I would DEFINITELY show them these two documentaries first, along with the HBO movie from 1995, and also the old vhs release of the Spinks fight, also one of my first Tyson purchases. Then they'd be hooked for life, just like I was. Here's the other doc:kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHLWgHeha76qf6M Along with this same doc, in better quality:kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ20ZYKwob9ng7M The old vhs of the Spinks fight is all over youtube, along with the 1995 film.
