Not all boxers are masters of punches. Most of them are just crappy boxers or new boxers who haven't learned, yet. The elite ones are in the minority. Thus, the masters of the punch are also in the minority. With that being said, most boxers who have been at it for at least 3 to 4 years, have learned how to harder (without using that much energy) than most 10 to 15-year martial arts veteran has. This doesn't make them masters of the punch, yet. It just makes them better than most people who don't box.

In all fairness the initial move from Jia most resembled tomo nagae, a judo takedown.. not wushu. Also in boxing, when holding pads calling out 1-2-3-4 translates to jab-cross- hook-rear uppercut and the padholder has to reposition the corresponding pads for the hook and uppercut which Ryan does not appear to be doing for Cyril.. that said and despite its numerous other flaws, I love this show.

The wushu is nice, but the user is WAAAAY too arrogant. I am a martial artist self and I seen plenty of karate users beat down by Boxers due to arrogance. The Boxer in this film is portrayed as quick and resilient while the wushu fighter seems to be some arrogant punk who mainly likes to show off, all bark but no bite.

@To0t to be fair, there's not really any secret, unique boxing technique that makes their punches stronger. boxers generally have stronger punches because of the manner in which they train. any wushu, mt, bjj, or blah blah fighter could have punches just as strong if they conditioned themselves the same way. wushu and mt fighters train their legs constantly. no surprise that they have extremely strong kicks.

Interesting, you must have a lot of fights in Thailand; though these are just exaggerated rumors, I heard Thailand's streets are ten times more active, in terms of street fights, than New York's streets. And I can see how that Karate fool was so easy to beat, considering how most sports type Karate users mainly follow the restricted rules within Karate tournaments, and always disregarding the traditional Karate used in actual fights.
